Our Vision: To know Christ and to make Him known to all
Our Mission: Bringing people together knowing that all are invited and welcome to share our love and worship of our Lord Jesus Christ
Important COVID-19 Corona Virus Update:
Please find and important message from Revd. Napo John, Rector below:
There are signs of new beginnings everywhere. The spring bulbs are sprouting, flowers on some plants are ready to open in a matter of days. There are also visible signs that the life may be soon ‘Post Corona Pandemic’. At the time of writing nearly three million vulnerable in our country have received their first Corona Jab. Only one country, Israel is ahead of us in the vaccination program. Very encouraging news, aren’t these! However, it is also true that we are not yet fully there and the dangers of the spread of this virus are huge. The hospital admissions are continuing to rise and the fears are that if the trend continues some NHS hospitals may soon be overwhelmed. I salute the bravery and hard work of our NHS workers. But on our part, we must do everything in our power to help reduce the spread of this deadly virus. It is in the light of this fact that the Parochial Church Council of St. Mary’s together with me decided in our meeting on the 13th January that to go back to the church on Sunday the 24th January (the date we are hoping to restart the services) will be too early. I was asked to write to our Diocesan Bishop to authorise dispensation. He has agreed with our concern and request and authorised the dispensation. If all goes well (which I very much hope it will), we will restart our church worship services in person from Sunday the 28th February 2021.
Meanwhile every Sunday two services will be conducted from the church building either by me or by Mrs Becky Willoughby our LLM: 8:00am on Zoom and 10:30 am livestreamed to the St Mary’s Youtube channel.
I believe this will be disappointing for some of us and how I wish things were different. But let us help save our NHS. Please feel free to ring me if you feel you need to talk to me. Always here for you to pray and listen. Please stay safe and stay blessed.
PLEASE NOTE- The Church will not be open for Private Prayers until further notice.

We will continue to keep you in our prayers
St Mary the Virgin Church has served the people of Hayes, Kent for over 800 years. The Parish comprises 8,500 residents and the church is at the heart of our community.
We embrace people of all ages and backgrounds who have in some way been challenged and changed by the love of God, made known through the work of his Son, Jesus Christ.
We meet together to celebrate that love in our Sunday worship, learn more about it in groups and find strength to convey it in all our relationships.
Day by day we seek the help of the Holy Spirit to know Christ better and make him known to others.
We warmly welcome all who come through the doors of our lovely church.
St Mary's is committed to ensuring our church is a safe place for all. If you have any safeguarding queries or are concerned about a child or vulnerable adult please contact the Safeguarding Officer, Clare Scriven:
